Robert E. (“Reg”) Gipson is a widely-experienced transactional lawyer who brings to his legal counseling the strategic perspective of an attorney who also has extensive real world experience launching and running diverse businesses.  He has been the CEO of corporations and of nonprofit entities.  Mr. Gipson is a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of Los Angeles.  He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (“CFA”) charter holder.  His clients are businesses, public and private charities, and the families or investors that own or support them.  Company owners turn to Mr. Gipson for counseling on issues of corporate governance and organization, especially in connection with generational and executive succession planning, or when an owner wants to sell or when an entrepreneur wants to buy or start a company.

In addition to serving as founder and CEO of businesses, Reg Gipson has served on a wide range of company boards and strategic planning groups.  He was for many years Chair of the Board of First California Financial Group, Inc. (sticker “FCAL”), a publicly-traded bank holding company, and he has held board positions for several publicly-traded banks and other financial institutions.  In service to nonprofit and charitable organizations, Mr. Gipson has served on the Board of the Sundance Institute and as member and chair of the Board of Overseers of the Claremont University Consortium.  He also has been member and chair of the Board of Trustees of Westwood United Methodist Church in Los Angeles.  Building on these experiences, he has worked with clients to organize and launch numerous public charities and private foundations.

Mr. Gipson has taught law school courses, and he regularly leads seminars on business issues, corporate finance, and capital allocation.
