Frederic N. Gaines


Frederic N. Gaines, Senior Partner of Gaines, Solomon Law Group, LLP, and Of Counsel to Gipson Hoffman & Pancione, represents a broad range of foreign and domestic-based clients, including many in the areas of entertainment and leisure-time industries, including advising and counseling clients respecting the development, production, financing, and distribution of motion pictures, television movies and series, home video, and interactive projects, as well as in areas of new media and exploitation platforms.  Mr. Gaines also advises clients in the areas of copyright and other intellectual property matters, literary publishing, merchandising, licensing, music recording, and music publishing, as well as entertainment lending and financing, and related matters.

Mr. Gaines has extensive experience in the acquisition and sale of film libraries and other entertainment assets, and frequently acts as a catalyst for transactions, introducing clients and other parties to each other and to opportunities, enabling them to expand their interests and business horizons.  Mr. Gaines has represented many Fortune 500 companies and high-wealth individuals wishing to expand their investments within the entertainment community, as well as governmental agencies in their local and international activities and relationships.  Mr. Gaines represents independent producers, financiers, and distributors in the entertainment industry and a variety of major talent, including “A level” actors, writers, directors, authors, musicians, composers, and celebrities. 

Mr. Gaines has regularly spoken at entertainment industry seminars and meetings in the U.S., Canada, Australia, and in myriad other countries throughout Europe, Asia, and elsewhere.

Based upon his strong interests in the community-at-large, Mr. Gaines has served on the boards and as president of organizations devoted to supporting educational and health standards and opportunities.
