Tue August 23, 2022 News

Los Angeles, CA—August 23, 2022—Gipson Hoffman & Pancione, a Los Angeles–based, full-service business law firm, is pleased to announce that Lawrence E. May has joined the firm as counsel in its Century City office.

Larry has developed a broad transactional and counseling practice during more than thirty-five years of solo practice in Los Angeles.  He primarily represents high-net-worth clients with family-owned and other closely-held entities involving business, real estate, and estate planning matters.

Larry’s business practice includes the life cycle of entities from formation to exit strategy, including succession planning and merger and acquisition activity.  Real estate transactions include the purchase, sale, and leasing of commercial, industrial, office, and single and multifamily residential properties, including counseling with respect to the entities owning such properties.  For estate planning and trust administration matters, he works closely with families and their advisors to fashion planning to provide intended distributions, tax reduction, and legacy planning while observing family objectives.

Larry has served as President of the Beverly Hills Bar Association and has chaired the Board of Directors of Public Counsel, the largest pro bono law firm in the United States.  He began his career at the prestigious New York–based law firm of Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison.  He received his B.A. and J.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles.

Larry has been designated a Southern California Super Lawyer every year since 2005.  He has also received an AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell, its highest rating for professional excellence.  In addition, he is a longtime member of Provisors, a nationwide group of trusted professional advisors; Bruin Professionals, a UCLA alumni group of professional advisors; and the Water Buffalo Club, a charity group raising funds for smaller children’s charities.

“We at Gipson Hoffman & Pancione are very pleased with Larry’s decision to become Of Counsel to our law firm.  It has been our privilege to watch Larry as he has advanced and protected his clients’ interests in a variety of business, company, and real estate matters,” says Robert “Reg” Gipson, the firm’s founder.  “In the practice of law, like every other complex endeavor, experience counts and good judgment is invaluable.  We are looking forward to tapping Larry’s judgment on behalf of GHP and our clients.”

Larry expresses equal admiration for GHP.  “I have been able to observe the breadth and quality of the talented group of lawyers at GHP while working with them.  Becoming Of Counsel will enable me to provide an expanded array of services to my clients and to handle multiple simultaneous projects.  The firm has a long history representing significant clients in many industries, including sophisticated business transactions and trust and estate matters, both domestically and internationally.  I am looking forward to being part of the team.”
